Although I concede that some people may be predisposed at birth to gayness [i.e.; by virtue of determining congenital factors within the genome], I don’t believe that everyone engaged in a gay life style conforms to this model. There exists no evidence of which I’m aware in biological research to suggest that there is a gay gene. Furthermore, Occam’s Razor advises us to believe that many alleged birthright gays are electively homosexual, learning the associated behaviors and auto-imprinting their sex drives accordingly. In fact, even among those who may be predisposed naturally to homosexuality, much of the codex of gay behaviors is undoubtedly learned as are many socially shaped heterosexual behaviors. I hasten to add that I include traditional affectations that are embedded within the roles of masculinity and femininity in this learned syllabus of behaviors.
At the birth of Homo sapiens, heterosexual orthodoxy was undoubtedly an adaptive strategy that fulfilled the needs of the species as well as the Genesis imperative of “be fruitful and multiply”. But with the globe rapidly approaching a flash point for what Paul Erhlich called The Population Bomb, it may be that same sex pairings have become more adaptive to the ends of human civilization.
Let me be resoundingly clear. I am in no way judging homosexuality in the context of moral activity. I have no dog in this hunt, one way or the other---except the truth of the matter which happens to be in the best interests of all concerned. Let’s all come to terms honestly with what it is and what it isn’t and everything in between. Then we can begin a dialogue based upon truth and reconciliation that will give society at large a clean, firm grip on the issue.

Got Dramamine? - Lary9 - Open Salon
Got Dramamine? - Lary9 - Open Salon: "Even to me as a veteran, the Oliver North fiasco demeaned the Constitution and was a clearly criminal action. Reagan and his NSA suborned the channels of advise and consent and perpetrated an illegal deception of the Congress that, after Watergate, left us all depressed and exhausted. If I had to trace the path to the current crisis in malfeasant government [which lead up to the invasion of Iraq], it would start with Nixon, pass through to Iran Contra and connect the dots straight to Bush-2 and the infamous WMDs. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper."
